NEW DELHI: The COVID-19 infection cases are gradually decreasing in the southern neighbor India.

India recorded 131,371 new coronavirus cases in the last 24 hours, taking the caseload to 28,572,359.

Earlier, the daily infection cases had reached up to 400,000.

Currently, 1,642,832 are undergoing treatment at various isolation centers and hospitals. Meanwhile, 26,588,808 have returned home after treatment.

Similarly, the number of deaths from the coronavirus in India has crossed the 340,700-mark.

With 2,706 deaths in a single day, the number of deaths from the virus has reached 340,719, according to the latest figures collated by the Worldometers.

Broken out in Wuhan City of China in December 2019, the coronavirus has killed 3,716,157 and infected 172,879,878 globally until the filing of this news.
