Lalitpur CDO Niraula tests positive for COVID-19



KATHMANDU: Chief District Officer (CDO) of Lalitpur Dhundi Prasad Niraula has tested positive for COVID-19.

CDO Niraula informed he is not going to attend today’s joint meeting in person due to the coronavirus infection in him.

“I will attend the meeting online. The assistant CDO will participate in the meeting in person,” said Adhikari.

Niraula is in home isolation, currently. “My health condition is normal. I have to be cautious about it. So I have decided to attend the meeting online,” said Niraula.

CDOs of the Kathmandu Valley are holding a joint meeting on the extension of the prohibitory orders. To be held at the office of District Administration Office, Kathmandu, the meeting will review the first phase of prohibitory orders and take additional decisions on the prevention and control of the COVID-19 in the Valley.

Prohibitory orders have been imposed in the Kathmandu Valley for a week since April 29. The first phase of the order is expiring on Wednesday midnight.

Today’s joint meeting is likely to extend prohibitory order for another one week with stricter measures.
