We should dare to form new party provided Oli-faction captures UML: UML leader Khanal

Kathmandu: Former Prime Minister and CPN-UML Leader Jhala Nath Khanal has said that if KP Oli’s group does not adhere to the party unity, they should dare to form a party.

Speaking at the UML’s disgruntled Nepal-Khanal faction’s Kathmandu District Committee announcement program at Buddhanagar, Kathmandu on Sunday, leader Khanal said that CPN-UML get a new form.

Hinting at the intra-party conflict in the UML, he said that the ongoing battle in the party is the conflict between right and wrong.

There are two groups in the UML, one a revolutionary and the other a right-wing extremist group, Khanal said.

“After the sixth general convention, factionalism began in the party,” he said, adding, “KP Oli’s factionalism continued even in the 9th General Convention and he managed to capture the leadership.”

Former PM Khanal also lambasted PM Oli for welcoming some business houses in the party and said that such acts undermine the contribution of the cadres working in the party for many decades.
