Three India-returnees in Sudurpaschim test positive for COVID-19 new variant



KATHMANDU: Three people from Sudurpaschim have contracted with a new variant of Coronavirus.

Narendra Singh Karki, Spokesperson of the Ministry of Social Development of the Sudurpaschim Province, said that the new variant was confirmed to be infected when they were tested at the National Public Health Laboratory.

The infected are from Kanchanpur, Dadeldhura, and Doti. A week ago, the swabs of 20 people including them were collected and examined. They were sent to Kathmandu to test the variant of coronavirus found in them.

All three infected are now in home isolation.

Only a few have been tested for antigen and swab at the health desk at the border transit point.
