Bamdev has ‘Plan B’ for unifying NCP

KATHMANDU: Vice Chairman of ruling Nepal Communist Party (NCP) Bam Dev Gautam has floated his “Plan B” of mobilizing second-rung leaders to ensure party unity.

Speaking to reporters at Civil Hospital, Kathmandu, leader Gautam said that as both Prime Minister KP Oli and NCP Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ seemed adamant not to realize their faults, he has decided to activate the second generation leaders to pressurize the top brass.

“Both leaders seem very adamant to their stances, and it seems they are not convinced at the need of party unity; the second generation leaders will put pressure on them,” Gautam said.

“There might come a day when the leaders who are against party unity will be boycotted in the election,” he added.

He blamed the so called ‘mini-cabinet’ of both leaders for derailing the party and hoped that sooner or later the second generation leaders will make the senior leaders break the narrow circle and come out from it.

Leader Gautam had been to Civil Hospital to get inoculated against COVID-19 on Thursday.
