All courts shut down today to mourn former CJ’s demise



KATHMANDU: All courts throughout the country have remained closed today to mourn the passing of  former Chief Justice (CJ) Surendra Prasad Singh.

An emergency meeting of the Supreme Court held Wednesday decided to close all courts to mourn former CJ Singh’s demise.

Singh died at the age of 89 years on Tuesday.

He was the ninth CJ of the country. He was in the office as CJ from 26 September 1995 to 14 February 1997.
