CHITWAN: Lumbini Chief Minister Shankar Pokharel has said Pushpa Kamal Dahal alias Prachanda reached streets while trying to dethrone Prime Minister KP Oli with Madhav Kumar Nepal’s support.

Addressing a cadres’ gathering in Chitwan, Pokharel said that the current crisis in the ruling party was due to Prachanda’s greed for becoming Prime Minister.

He also said that the party unity crisis was due to the two-chairman system.

“He (Prachanda) did not consider it better to go to the General Convention and select the leadership,” Pokharel said, targeting Prachanda.

Pokharel alleged that the Prachanda-Madhav faction did not listen to Prime Minister Oli’s repeated attempts to protect party unity.
