Voter-list being collected at 637 local level centers from today

KATHMANDU: The Election Commission (EC) is conducting a special program to compile the voter-list from today (Friday).

The Election Commission has informed that the voters’ registration can ben done at all local level centers giving continuity to voter-list collection underway from 77 election offices, 77 district administration offices and 40 different area administration offices.

The EC said that it is going to launch the special program related to voters registration at 637 local level centers in the form of a campaign from today.

The voter name list will be collected at local levels of mountain and hilly districts for 10 days while at local levels of Tarai, inner Madhesh and Kathmandu valley for 15 days. Name of all citizens above 16 years, who have acquired citizenship certificate, will be collected.

The EC said that voters name list of the citizens, who are out of their districts due to various reasons, including employment or studies, will also be collected starting today.

Around 2,300 staffers are directly involved in voter-list collection special programs across the nation.

Compilation of voter-list at all local levels has to be completed by January 4. Around one million new voters are likely to be added through this program.
