UML to have 15 central office-bearers



KATHMANDU: The CPN-UML has provisioned for 15 central office-bearers.

The first Statute General Convention that concluded Sunday at Godavari in Lalitpur decided that the party’s central office bearers will have 15 members.

Responding to a query on the amendment to the party statute, Deputy Secretary General Bishnu Poudel said that there would be 15 central office-bearers, including one chairperson, 5 vice chairpersons, including senior vice chairperson, 1 general secretary, 1 deputy general secretary and 7 secretaries.

Similarly, the base number for all UML committees has been fixed at 50. The provincial committee will have a base of 50 members and five members from each constituency of the House of Representatives will be added.

The district committee will also have 50 members with 15 members to be added from the provincial assembly constituency and in the case of the rural municipal committee, 5 members from each ward will be added to the base of 50 members.

The UML’s central committee will have 225 members and 33 percent women will be mandatory in all committees.

Similarly, the party’s standing committee will have 45 members.
