Nepal Academy makes cent percent progress in FY 2019/20



KATHMANDU: The Annual Report of Nepal Academy for Fiscal Year 2019/20 has been handed over to Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba. PM Deuba is also the Chief Patron of the Academy.

Nepal Academy Chancellor Prof Ganga Prasad Uprety presented the Report at a ceremony organized at the Prime Minister’s official residence at Baluwatar today.

Nepal Academy has carried out 83 research studies, translation, and book writing during the period.

Similarly, it has conducted 50 national and international seminars, conferences, workshops, and lectures. It has published 81 books and 21 issues of 12 various literary and other magazines in that period.

The Academy has developed the mobile app of the Nepali Brihat Kosh (A Comprehensive Dictionary of Nepali) as well as the integrated database of this dictionary and the dictionaries of other mother languages, Academy’s member-secretary Prof Jagat Prasad Upadhyay said.

“We have attained cent percent achievement despite the adversities as lockdown and restrictions imposed to contain COVID-19 pandemic,” he said. The Academy Assembly members were also present on the occasion.
