Maharjan elected in Tarkeshwar and Budhathoki in Budhanilkantha

KATHMANDU: Krishna Hari Maharjan has been elected as the president of Nepali Congress Tarkeshwor Municipality.

He won the municipal-level election as part of the party’s 14th general convention on Saturday with 135 votes.

His nearest rival Shri Ram Thapa got 114 votes. Similarly, Nawaraj Aryal (125) and Jamuna Timilsina (123), Raju Phunyal (126) and Shankar Timilsina (117) and Saraswati Poudel (117) and Apsara Khadka (114) have secured votes in the election.

In Budhanilakantha, Rajaram Budhathoki has been elected as the president of the Municipality.

He polled 155 votes while his nearest rival Rajan Budhathoki got 68 votes. Similarly, Sanukancha Shrestha (181) and Shambhu Karki (170) were elected to the post of Vice-president, Bijendra Shrestha (206) and Bijendra Pudasaini (171) as secretaries and Kumar Khadka (145) and Nirmala Acharya (Poudel) as joint-secretaries.
