Maoist Center holding SC meeting to discuss cabinet expansion

KATHMANDU: The ruling CPN Maoist-Centre is holding its Standing Committee (SC) meeting Sunday to discuss and finalize the names of the party leaders to be sent to join the cabinet as ministers.

Party Spokesperson Krishna Bahadur Mahara said the party did not discuss the issue in Saturday’s SC meeting about the party leaders for their ministerial responsibility in the incumbent government.

“The issue of cabinet expansion will be discussed in the SC meeting Sunday,” Spokesperson Mahara said.

The party had on Saturday discussed issues pertaining to new leadership of the All Nepal National Independent Students Union (Revolutionary) as there were many aspirants for the top post of the party’s student wing.

According to Maoist leaders, party Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal “Prachanda” has been entrusted with the responsibility to select the party student wing’s chair.
