UML Vice Chairman Gautam renounces party

KATHMANDU: UML Vice Chairman Bamdev Gautam has left the party.

He submitted his resignation letter at the UML party office in Thapathali on Friday. UML party office secretary Sher Bahadur Tamang confirmed receiving Gautam’s letter.

After the then Oli government dissolved the House of Representatives for the first time last December, the then Nepal Communist Party got divided along two main streams. At the time, Gautam emerged as the third pole.

Now as the UML splitted, Gautam is inclined towards the Madhav Kumar Nepal-led CPN Unified Socialists. However, he has yet to join the Unified Socialist.
