UML leader Nembang challenges Madhav Nepal to justify split of party

KATHMANDU: CPN-UML Parliamentary Party (PP) Deputy Leader Subash Nembang has challenged the leadership of the CPN Unified Socialist to justify the split of the party.

Addressing a program held by a lawyers’ association close to the party in Lalitpur on Friday, UML PP Deputy Leader Nembang said that the split of the UML could not be justified by sticking to the talk of ‘you and me’, referring to Unified Socialist Chairman Madhav Kumar Nepal.

Stating that constitutional provision doesn’t allow spilts until and unless there is an ideology, philosophy and programs, he accused leader Nepal of splitting the party though he had none of those.

“Friends will not be able to justify the split in the party. All I am saying is that the split should be justified. But, it has been clear that there is no valid reason for division. There is no ideology and philosophy behind the split. It’s just ego of ‘you and me’,” said Nembang.
