Govt transfers AIGs

Pal to look after Metro, Thapa Operation Department



KATHMANDU: The government has transferred four Additional Inspector General of Police (AIGs) of Nepal Police.

According to sources, the cabinet meeting on Wednesday revoked the transfer of AIGs made by the then KP Oli-led government making room for the transfer of AIGs possible convenient.

The Police Spokesperson SSP Basanta Bahadur Kuwar said that the Police Headquarters have received the transfer letter.

As per the new transfer, AIG Hari Bahadur Pal, who is currently working at the Metropolitan Police Office, Ranipokhari (Metro), has been retained whereas AIG Pradyumna Karki has been transferred to the Criminal Investigation Department (CIB) and Niraj Bahadur Shahi to the National Police Training Institute, Maharajgunj.

Similarly, while AIG Bishwaraj Pokharel has been transferred to the Human Resources and Administration Department, Sahakul Bahadur Thapa has been transferred to the Operation Department.

Pal, Shahi and Karki are the current IGP Shailesh Thapa Chhetri’s batch while Pokhrel and Thapa are the AIGs of the junior batch.
