Bibeksheel leaders unveil alternative proposal

KATHMANDU: Four leaders of Bibeksheel Sajha Party have presented an alternative proposal against party President Rabindra Mishra’s “Changing Course”, which was made public on July 26.

Bibeksheel Coordinator Milan Pandey, Central Secretariat member Keshav Dahal, Rajendra Pangeni and Ranju Darshana jointly unveiled the alternative proposal titled “The Main Path to Alternative Politics” amidst a program Tuesday.

Tuesday’s proposal is in contrast to Bibeksheel President Mishra’s point of view. Mishra proposed abolishing federalism and holding a referendum on secularism.

Four leaders expressed skepticism over Misha’s proposal stating that it drove alternative politics to a wrong direction and have advocated for strengthening democracy, retaining secularism and further refining federalism.

Today’s proposal bats for directly elected executive at all three tiers of government and formation of a cabinet of non-parliamentary members on the basis of expertise.

“We cannot drive our party, which was created to change the condition of ordinary people, towards endless instability in the name of restructuring by blaming the existing governance system due to leaders’ incompetence,” read the proposal.
