KATHMANDU: The Kathmandu District Administration Office has urged people not to crowd or get involved in any activities such as rallies, get-togethers, assemblies, citing a rise in coronavirus infection cases in Kathmandu Valley in the last few days.

Issuing a notice Tuesday, the District Administration Office requested not to organize such activities, saying activities like conference, meeting, rally and seminar are still taking place even amidst the high risk of coronavirus infection.

The notice issued by Chief District Officer, Kali Prasad Parajuli, asked the people not to carry out activities against health safety protocols as coronavirus infection would increase and there is a possibility of a third wave of COVID-19 due to crowded activities.

The notice reads, “Stern action will be taken against those creating crowd and involved in such activities defying the prohibitory order and health safety protocols.”

All the sides and communities should be responsible to prevent and control the infection; ICU and ventilators at the hospitals have started to be packed with patients, mentioned the notice.
