KATHMANDU: A meeting of Nepali Congress (NC) leaders, close to senior leader Ram Chandra Poudel faction, is underway at NC leader Prakash Man Singh’s residence in Chaksibari, Kathmandu, Tuesday.
NC General Secretary Dr. Shashank Koirala, former General Secretary Singh and former Joint General Secretary Arjun Narsingh KC, among others, are gathered for the informal meeting.
NC Sources said that the meeting will discuss the active membership dispute, the upcoming general convention and the party leaders to join the government.
The pre-determined schedule of the ruling NC’s 14th General Convention scheduled for August has been affected due to the dispute over active membership renewal and distribution.
Party President Sher Bahadur Deuba was appointed the Prime Minister on July 3 amid the compulsion to hold a general convention this time.
PM Deuba is under pressure to complete cabinet formation and work simultaneously on the calendar of party’s general convention.
