KATHMANDU: A meeting of leaders close to Nepali Congress (NC) senior leader Ram Chandra Poudel is being held at Chaksibari, leader Prakash Man Singh’s residence on Tuesday afternoon.
According to leader Singh’s secretariat, NC office bearers and former office bearers including senior leader Ram Chandra Poudel are scheduled to meet informally this afternoon.
NC Sources said that the meeting will discuss the active membership dispute, the upcoming general convention and the party leaders to join the government.
The pre-determined schedule of the ruling NC’s 14th General Convention scheduled for August has been affected due to the dispute over active membership renewal and distribution.
Party President Sher Bahadur Deuba was appointed the Prime Minister on July 3 amid the compulsion to hold a general convention this time.
PM Deuba is under pressure to complete cabinet formation and work simultaneously on the calendar of party’s general convention.
