Nepali players bag gold in Taekwondo Poomsae



KATHMANDU: Three Taekwondo players from Nepal, including Sanjeev Nepali, have won gold medals in the DG Asian Taekwondo Open Online Poomsae Championship.

The championship was jointly organized by DG Taekwondo Philippines and Ong Taekwondo US.

Sanjeev beat Clive Collado of the US to clinch the gold in the Poomsae in the 30-40 age group bout. Sanjeev scored 5.433 while Clive hit 4.483.

Similarly, Sandipa Amgain of Nepal clinched the gold medal in the women 18-30 years age group contest.

She thrashed Shannon Masden of the United States, scoring 5.5000. Masden scored 5.400.

Likewise, Prem Kumar Darnal won a gold medal in the male 40-50 years age group in Poomsae. He scored 5.067. He beat Tim Omira of the US who scored 5.

Players from the US, Philippines, Australia, Singapore, Slovenia, and Indonesia participated in the competition.
