‘No responsibility’ will be assigned to leaders prompting party split: Ishwar Pokhrel

KATHMANDU: CPN-UML General Secretary Ishwar Pokhrel has said that no responsibility will be given to those provoking party split.

Addressing the Central Committee meeting on Saturday, Pokhrel said that there was no chance of taking the party back to May 16, 2018 status as demanded by the disgruntled faction as some leaders seem determined to split the party.

“Just because Nepal-Khanal faction wants so, the party cannot be taken back to May 16 status,” Pokhrel said in the meeting, adding, “The comrades who are conspiring for party split cannot be given responsibility in the party.”

General Secretary Pokhrel has presented an organizational proposal in the meeting.

He has proposed to renew the membership by mid-July and to hold a general convention in the local wards by July 30.
