Khanal-Nepal faction’s zoom meeting decides not to withdraw signature

KATHMANDU: CPN-UML’s disgruntled Khanal-Nepal faction’s Saturday’s zoom meeting has decided not to withdraw their support promised to opposition alliance leader Nepali Congress (NC) President Sher Bahadur Deuba.

The UML Central Committee meeting on Friday had given three-day ultimatum to Khanal-Nepal faction leaders to withdraw support given to NC President Deuba’s candidacy for the Prime Minister.

However, the meeting of the 23 UML lawmakers close to leader Nepal made it clear that they will not withdraw signature under any circumstances.

In the meantime, the second level leaders of both Chairman KP Oli faction and Khanal-Nepal faction have intensified talks as an attempt to patch up differences and retain party unity.
