All courts to remain closed to mourn former CJ’s demise

KATHMANDU: All courts throughout the country will remain closed on Thursday to observe mourning at the demise of former Chief Justice (CJ) Surendra Prasad Singh.

An emergency meeting of the Supreme Court held Wednesday decided to close all courts to mourn former CJ Singh’s demise.

Singh died at the age of 89 years on Tuesday.

He was the ninth CJ of the country. He was in the office as CJ from 26 September 1995 to 14 February 1997.
