PM Oli removed from Parliamentary Party leader



KATHMANDU: Nepal Communist Party (NCP) Prachanda-Nepal faction has decided to remove Prime Minister and party Chairman KP Oli from the post of parliamentary party leader.

The faction has also removed Deputy Leader Subash Nemwang and Shanta Chaudhary from the post of the whip.

A meeting of the central committee held on Wednesday at Peris Danda in Koteswor also decided to suspend central members Subash Chandra Nemwang, Shanta Chaudhary, Bishal Bhattarai, Mahesh Basnet, Surya Thapa, Niru Pal, Prabhu Sah and Karna Thapa for six months.

According to NCP central member Bishnu Rijal, the Standing Committee meeting took action against them for acting against the party’s conduct.

After the dissolution of the House of Representatives by Prime Minister Oli on December 20, the Prachanda-Nepal faction had decided to elect Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ as the leader of the parliamentary party.
