Prachanda-Nepal faction’s CC meeting underway at Peris Danda

KATHMANDU: A Central Committee (CC) meeting of the Nepal Communist Party (NCP) Prachanda-Nepal faction is taking place at Peris Danda in Koteshwor on Wednesday.

The meeting will dwell on the latest political developments created following the reinstatement of the House of Representatives (HoR) and endorse the Standing Committee (SC) meeting’s agenda.

An SC meeting of the faction held earlier has finalized the agenda of changing the parliamentary party leader.

According to a central member of the faction, the Standing Committee meeting decided to take the agenda of changing the leader of the parliamentary party to the CC meeting.

The faction had earlier decided to elect Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal “Prachanda” as the leader of the parliamentary party after the dissolution of the House of Representatives by Prime Minister KP Oli on December 20.

The Election Commission, however, refused to recognize the decisions.

Encouraged by the decision of the Supreme Court to reinstate the dissolved HoR, the Prachanda-Nepal faction is now mulling to form a new government in collaboration with the main opposition Nepali Congress (NC).
