PM Oli on the path of anarchism, hooliganism: Prachanda-Nepal faction

KATHMANDU: The Prachanda-Nepal led faction of the Nepal Communist Party (NCP) has alleged Prime Minister KP Oli of embracing “fascism, hooliganism and anarchism” to fulfill his vested interest.

Organizing a press conference at the party office in Perisdanda on Wednesday, faction’s Spokesperson Narayan Kaji Shrestha came down heavily on PM Oli for betraying the people’s aspirations and their struggle to establish the political system in the country.

“Thursday’s general strike is against PM Oli’s fascist attitude and anarchism,” Shrestha said, adding, “However, the strike would be peaceful, yet aggressive.”

The faction, which has been agitating against the dissolution of the House of Representatives (HoR), said their agitation would be “aggressive, yet peaceful”

“There is no alternative to a peaceful, yet aggressive movement against the government’s unconstitutional move”, Shrestha said.

The general strike called for Thursday is also to protest the unconstitutional appointments in the Constitutional Bodies, according to him labeling the move as “compulsion” to what he said, “safeguard democracy and people’s rights.”

Responding to a query about the government’s efforts to bring the outlawed Biplav-faction to mainstream politics, Shrestha said, “We will welcome any decision to bring the faction to mainstream politics. However, we believe that this is a mere strategy of Prime Minister KP Oli-led government to hoodwink the people.”

He also labeled PM Oli of being a leader of anarchism.

According to him, all market places, businesses, industries, educational institutions, and offices will remain closed on Thursday.

“However, vehicles transporting dairy and agricultural products, ambulances, and emergency vehicles will be allowed to ply the streets,” he said.
