Prachanda-Nepal faction holding press conference today

KATHMANDU: The Prachanda-Nepal faction of the Nepal Communist Party (NCP) is holding a press conference Wednesday.

The Prachanda-Nepal faction, which has been in agitation after the dissolution of the House of Representatives on December 20, is going to hold a press conference at Peris Danda at 2 pm today, said central member Bishnu Rijal.

The 38 officials recommended for the appointment in the constitutional bodies by the Constitutional Council have taken the oath of office and secrecy this morning without a parliamentary hearing.

The government had recommended officials for appointment in the constitutional commissions by bringing an ordinance on December 15.

According to the NCP leaders, the press conference will focus on the same issue. There is a constitutional provision that a parliamentary hearing should be held on the recommendation made by the Constitutional Council.

Senior leader Jhala Nath Khanal has responded that the appointment made to the Constitutional Commission is another example of dictatorship of the Oli-led government.
