Schools, theaters, gymnasiums to reopen

10 days compulsory quarantine for passengers coming from foreign countrieses including the UK should stay in quarantine for 10 days.



KATHMANDU: The High Level COVID-19 Crisis Management Committee formed to Prevent and Control of COVID-19 has decided to reopen schools that had remained closed since March last year due to coronavirus pandemic.

A meeting of the Committee held on Sunday decided to reopen schools, movie theaters, gymnasiums, etc., as of now adopting safety protocols.

The Committee has, however, given the right to close schools, movie theaters, among others to the District COVID-19 Crisis Management Center.

Announcing the decision of the meeting, Secretary to the Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers Mahendra Prasad Guragain said that the Committee has also decided to send a proposal to the Council of Ministers to open the schools and other businesses by analyzing the current situation.

Likewise, the meeting has also recommended to the cabinet that all passengers coming to Nepal from 22 countries, including the UK should stay in quarantine for 10 days.
