KATHMANDU: The Prachanda-Nepal faction of the Nepal Communist Party (NCP) is holding a Standing Committee meeting on Sunday.

The meeting to be held at the party’s office in Perisdanda will discuss the second phase of a protest announced by the faction against the dissolution of the House of Representatives, according to the Spokesperson of the faction Narayankaji Shrestha.

The Central Struggle Committee Against Regression at a press conference announced the protest plan from January 4 to February 7.

As per the protest plan, a memorandum will be submitted to the Prime Minister from all the districts on January 8 demanding to apologize to the people for correcting the unconstitutional steps.

Along with the memorandum, a book of the constitution will also be given to the Prime Minister.

The Prachanda-Nepal faction has been irked after Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli dissolved the House of Representatives (HoR).

The disgruntled faction decided to hold the second phase of the demonstration after the main opposition Nepali Congress hesitated to jointly hit the streets.
