KATHMANDU: Senior Advocate Raman Shrestha has remarked the irregularities like bench shopping and bench setting have increased during Chief Justice Cholendra Shumsher Rana’s tenure.
While participating in the protest program Nepal Bar Association organized against the Chief Justice on Tuesday, he also remarked that Chief Justice Rana failed to retain the glory of the judiciary.
“Although the Chief Justice defends himself against the allegation of bench shopping and bench setting in his television interviews, he has nurtured corruption and has also failed as Chief Justice,” Shrestha said.
Shrestha said that the political parties should not remain silent in the court dispute as the parties would have to pay a heavy price for silence.
