CJ Rana assigns six benches for hearing writs today

KATHMANDU: Supreme Court (SC) is hearing on six writ petitions related to habeas corpus as well as banking offense today.

Chief Justice Cholendra Shumsher Rana on Monday had scheduled habeas corpus-related writ petitions after disgruntled Supreme Court Justices, who have been boycotting benches, expressed readiness to look into only writs about habeas corpus.

Rana, however, has scheduled writs related to banking offenses apart from that of habeas corpus today.

Out of six writs scheduled for today, four are related to banking offenses, according to the Supreme Court.

Chief Justice Rana has not included him in any benches after the agitating Justices denied sharing the bench with him.
