Police rescue abducted Indian national in Saptari



KATHMANDU: Police have rescued a man, who was abducted from India and brought to Nepal, in Saptari.

The abducted Indian national was rescued from Balan Bihul Rural Municipality in Saptari district, police said.

Saptari Police Spokesperson DSP Madhav Prasad Kafle said that a joint team of Nepal Police and Armed Police Force (APF) rescued Shankar Kumar Sah, 22, of Loukaha Gram Panchayat ward 9 of Madhubani District in Bihar.

DSP Kafle added Sah was rescued while he was chained near the Nepal-India border in Ramnagar, Balan Bihul.

Nepal Police and APF were searching for Sah after the Indian police informed the Nepali side that an unidentified group kidnapped him and had taken towards Dashagja area in Nepal.

Police receoved a mobile set using Ncell’s SIM card from the site where Sah was kept in chains. However, kidnappers are yet to be identified and found.
