Govt intensifies market monitoring as Dashain festival nears

KATHMANDU: With the Dashain festival just around the corner, the Commerce, Supplies and Consumers Protection Office, Birgunj has intensified its market monitoring.

The consumers protection office has raided and taken action against 16 shops in the last two days, informed Dilip Khatwe, the information officer of the office.

They have been charged of Rs 199,000 in fine for operating shops without licenses, hiding procurement bills and not cooperating the monitoring team.
