Midwestern University and Professors Association seal 8-pt deal



DHANGADHI: An eight-point agreement has been reached between the Midwestern University and the Democratic Professors Association of Nepal thereby putting an end to agitation by the Association.

A high-level problem-solving committee formed by the university and agitating professors reached an agreement following talks on Friday evening.

According to Associate Professor Bishnu Kumar Khadka, a member of the negotiating team formed by the university, it has been agreed to fill in the vacancies in various departments of the university.

Similarly, the process will be taken forward by making clear criteria regarding the pension and gratuity of the faculty and staff and passing the rules and procedures, including regular salary allowance as an incentive for the contract-based employees.

Chairperson of the agitating Democratic Professors Association Midwest University Central Committee Rupesh Khatri, Vice Chairman Chhabi Bhandari and Treasurer Harendra KC were present in the talks.
