Four women die when Sisne rivulet sweeps away a car in Dang



DANG: At least four women died when a rivulet swept away a car in Dang district.

DSP Mukunda Prasad Rijal informed that all four persons onboard died when a flood-fed Sisne rivulet in Ghorahi sub-metropolis-4 swept away the Ghorahi-bound car (Province 3-01-24 Cha 4440) from Nepalgunj on Wednesday evening.

The flood took away the car they were travelling in while returning home from Rupaidiya market.

Sushila Shrestha, 32, of Ghorahi-13 and Radha Shrestha Kunwar, 30, of Ghorahi-14 were found dead on the spot. Likewise, Ritamaya Pun, 40, of Ghorahi-13 and Bimala KC, 42, of Ghorahi-14 went at large in the swollen rivulet.

Dead bodies of those missing were found on the banks of the rivulet at Ghorahi-3, Beluwa at around 3.00 am this morning, informed spokesperson of the District Police Office Rijal.

Car driver Nara Bahadur Pun, 40, of Ghorahi-15 who was found injured is receiving treatment at Rapti Academy of Health Sciences, police said.
