Govt transfers Chief Dr. Gautam from COVID-19 Unified Hospital

KATHMANDU: The government has transferred Dr. Jageshwor Gautam, chief of COVID-19 Unified Hospital (Bir Hospital), to Paropakar Maternity and Women’s Hospital in Thapathali.

The Ministry of Health and Population (MoHP) through a minister-level decision Monday transferred Dr. Gautam.

Earlier, Dr. Gautam served as the spokesperson of MoHP. He was appointed the head of COVID-19 Unified Hospital while he was MoHP spokesperson by the KP Sharma Oli-led government.

Following his appointment to Bir Hospital, staffers were staging protests against him.
