Maoist Center’s SC meeting postponed citing lack of preparations



KATHMANDU: A Standing Committee (SC) meeting of the CPN (Maoist Center) scheduled for today has been postponed.

The meeting scheduled to take place at the central party headquarters in Paris Danda at 3 pm has been adjourned citing lack of preparations, informed Shree Ram Dhakal, the secretary at the central party headquarters.

According to a Maoist Center leader, the meeting was supposed to dwell on the selection of ministers to take part in the cabinet.

Currently, Janardan Sharma and Pampha Bhusal are the Home Minister and Energy Minister respectively in the Council of Ministers from the Maoist Center.

The Maoist Center is likely to get seven more ministries, according to leaders.

Similarly, Home Minister Bal Krishna Khad, Law Minister Gyanendra Bahadur Karki and Minister of State for Health and Population Umesh Shrestha are in the cabinet from the Nepali Congress.

Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba who took over the helm of the government on July 13 has not been able to expand his cabinet.
