KATHMANDU: Nepali Congress (NC) Vice President Bimalendra Nidhi, General Secretary Dr Shashanka Koirala and Prakash Man Singh, who are preparing to contest the Presidential election in the 14th General Convention of the party, have deferred the meeting scheduled for today.

Earlier, they had scheduled the meeting with the central working committee (CWC) members for Friday.

The meeting with the CWC members has been postponed citing busy schedule, former General Secretary Prakash Man Singh said.

“The meeting has been cancelled due to the officer-bearers’ meeting today,” said Singh.

Nidhi, Koirala and Singh are making preparations to contest the Presidential election in the 14th General Convention of the party scheduled for September 1-4.  The trio has been holding meetings in their residences in turns.

They had recently held a meeting at Singh’s residence in Chaksibari.

The meeting had decided to focus on the general convention by immediately thrashing out the disputes seen in the active membership issue and hold a meeting with the CWC members who did not file their candidacies in the 13th general convention.
