JSP Chair Yadav slams govt policy of Chure exploitation

KATHMANDU: Chairman of the Janata Samajwadi Party (JSP) Upendra Yadav has said that the government’s plan of exporting stones, gravel and sand from the Chure region would lead to a major natural calamity in the Tarai/Madesh.

In a press statement issued Wednesday, Chairman Yadav said that the government’s policy of reducing trade deficit by excavating and exporting mineral stones, ballast and sand as mentioned in the budget was environmentally dangerous, the burnt of which had to be borne by the people of Madesh.

The statement added that the policy amounted to treason against the nation.
