Average daily death rate in Nepal from coronavirus 108

Based on one-week data



KATHMANDU: The death rate from coronavirus is gradually decreasing, of late. Based on the data from last Wednesday to Tuesday, the daily average death rate from the pandemic is put at 108.

On May 19, as many as 246 people lost their lives from the COVID-19, the highest ever daily death in Nepal so far.

In the period of past one week, as many as  754 people have died from COVID-19. According to the Health Ministry, 145 died last Wednesday, 106 on Thursday, 96 on Friday,  116 on Saturday, 109 on Sunday.

Similarly, 114 died on Monday and  68 on Tuesday. With this, a total of 7,454 people have died from coronavirus in Nepal so far.

Likewise,  as many as 6,898 people have recovered from COVID-19, taking the total number of recovered to 4,54344 in the country.

On Tuesday, 6,085 people were infected with COVID-19. With this, the total number of COVID-19 infected people in Nepal has reached 566,587.

Currently, 1,491 COVID-19 patients are receiving treatment at ICU and 404 are on ventilators across the country.

Meanwhile, out of one million dozes of COVID-19 vaccines pledged by China, 800,000 doses of Vero Cell arrived Nepal on Tuesday.

An airbus of Nepal Airlines Corporation (NAC) brought the China-manufactured vaccines yesterday.

The Health Ministry is making  preparations to administer the vaccines to the snior citizens of the country.
