BHAKTAPUR: Senior leader of the Nepali Congress Ram Chandra Poudel has expressed concern over the rumor that he was getting lured with the post of President. “I did not accept the proposal of the post of President and Prime Minister.

So, I don’t have yearning for these posts now,” he said. Speaking at a program in Bhaktapur, senior leader Poudel showed concern that false rumor was being spread about him.

“After Girija Prasad Koirala was denied the post of first President owing to national and international situation, I was offered the post. But, I told Girija Prasad Koirala that I had still more time to work for democracy and could not limit myself in President post,” the former Deputy Prime Minister recalled and shared that even the post of Prime Minister was offered later.

According to him, Pushpa Kamal Dahal “Prachanda” had proposed him to be the Prime Minister on a condition that he had to announce the 10 provinces in the country while federalizing Nepal.

It was the time when Dr Baburam Bhattarai was the Prime Minister, he added. The senior leader stressed that at present, NC should not join government but continue to stay in opposition.
