RPP Chair Thapa emphasizes on round-table conference

KATHMANDU: Chairman of Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP) Kamal Thapa has demanded convening a round table conference that includes all parties from the King to outlawed Biplav outfit.

Welcoming the attempts the government has made to mainstream the outlawed Biplav-led outfit of Nepal Communist Party (NCP), Thapa has demanded a round table conference that can include all major stakeholders of politics including former King and the Biplav group.

“It is positive to have talks with NCP Maoist’s rebel group; however, if it is to work in the interest of the country and the people, it is high time that the government held an all-party conference representing all the parties and factions active in national politics, from the king to the rebels,” he has tweeted, “The politics of prohibition must come to an end.”

Both the government and the Biplav outfit have formed their respective talk teams on Tuesday to hold dialogue.

Home Minister Ram Bahadur Thapa ‘Badal’, former Maoist leader and Prime Minister KP Oli’s Foreign Affairs advisor Rajan Bhattarai are in the government team.

Similarly, Biplav’s team consists of the faction’s Spokesperson Khadga Bahadur Bishwokarma ‘Prakanda’ and Deepak Chalaune.
