18,000 foreigners visit Nepal in past two months

KATHMANU: With the COVID-19 cases gradually subsiding in the country, the number of foreign tourists visiting Nepal has increased.

As many as 18,000 tourists have visited Nepal in the period of two months – January and February.

According to the Department of Immigration, 8,874 tourists came to Nepal in January and 9,146 arrived in February. Of them, 8,791 were from India, 2,585 from China and 1,994 from America.

In the year 2020, only 230,000 foreign tourists visited Nepal, according to Nepal Tourism Board.
