No budget shortage for election: Minister Poudel



KATHMANDU: The Election Commission held a consultative meeting with Finance Minister Bishnu Prasad Poudel regarding the financial management for the upcoming election to the House of Representatives.

On the occasion, Finance Minister Poudel assured that there would not be any shortage of budget to conduct the election in a free and fair manner. “It’s EC’s responsibility to institutionalize and consolidate democracy via election,” he said, adding that EC preparations for the upcoming election were positive.

The Finance Ministry will extend full support and cooperation to hold the election in an economic and transparent way, he said.

Chief Election Commissioner Dinesh Kumar Thapaliya informed the Minister of election preparation and expressed commitment to hold the election in a transparent and fair manner.
