Landslide blocks Mahakali River, locals urged to remain vigilant



KANCHANPUR: The District Administration Office, Kanchanpur has urged locals to remain vigilant after the Mahakali River was blocked due to a landslide.

The administration has urged to remain vigilant for a possible flash flood as the river has been blocked at Malpa in Darchula.

The District Administration Office issued a notice urging the settlements along the river to remain vigilant saying that the flow of the river may increase at any time due to the bursting of the accumulated lake formed by the blockage.

Darchula Chief District Officer Sharad Kumar Pokharel said that the Mahakali River was blocked after a landslide fell while the Indian side was constructing the road.
