KATHMANDU: The Supreme Court (SC) will not hear the contempt of court case against Chairman of Nepal Communist Party (NCP) Prachanda-Nepal faction Pushpa Kamal Dahal alias Prachanda on Tuesday.
The apex court said that the case can’t be heard today for a lack of time.
A single bench of Justice Manoj Sharma was scheduled to hear the case today.
Advocate Samir Hayu had registered the case on Monday against Prachanda’s statement in a mass assembly in Biratnagar.
Prachanda had said that he had maintained patience because of the issue at the apex court.
“We have been patient with the belief that the Supreme Court will act in accordance with the spirit and letter of the constitution, in accordance with the spirit and spirit of democracy, and in accordance with the sentiments and needs of the people of this country,” Prachanda had told the mass in Biratnagar.
The petitioner claims that Prachanda has repeatedly made threatening remarks targeting the court and the justices.
Earlier, a contempt case was registered against Prime Minister KP Oli and former chief justices.
