Inferno at Langtang National Park forest yet to come under control



RASUWA: A fire that engulfed a forest at the Langtang National Park has yet to be doused. The fire had spread on Saturday at noon at Grahngpakha forest located in the north of Kalika Rural Municipality-1.

Hundreds of hectares of forest lands have been destroyed in the blaze, said, local people. However, exact details of the loss are yet to come by, it has been said.

A team of Nepali Army, employees of the national park, and local people have been mobilized to extinguish the fire, said chief conservation officer at the national park, Sushma Rana.

All conservationists have been asked to help book those involved in the crime of forest fire by sharing information, she said.
