It’s now impossible to save NCP from split: General Secretary Poudel

KATHMANDU: Nepal Communist Party (NCP) General Secretary and Finance Minister Bishnu Poudel has said that it was now impossible to save the party from the split.

Speaking at a cadres’ meeting of the NCP KP Oli faction in Kathmandu on Saturday, Poudel said that Prachanda and Madhav Nepal were trying to split the party.

He argued that in a democracy, the decision of the Prime Minister to go for mid-term elections is justified and now no one can stop it.

Poudel claimed that the House of Representatives had to be dissolved due to the siege and non-cooperation of his own party.

He alleged that the ‘charge sheet’ submitted by Chairman Prachanda at the party’s Secretariat meeting was the main reason for the party’s split.
