Second consignment of Covishield under COVAX arriving Nepal today 



KATHMANDU: As part of the over 6 million doses COVAX has committed to provide, the second consignment of Covishield is arriving in Nepal today.

Nepal received 725,550 doses of Covishield from COVAX, according to Upendra Dhungana, chief of the Logistic Management Section under the Department of Health Services.

Nepal on Monday received 725,550 doses of Covishield from the COVAX facility.

Likewise, the country will receive 972,000 doses of Covishield on Wednesday.

The country has so far received 23,889440 doses of Covid-19 vaccines, including AstraZeneca, Vero Cell, Johnson, and Pfizer.

As of Monday, as many as 8,382,994 people have been fully vaccinated, which means that 27.6 percent of the country’s total population.

Health Ministry has said that over 34 million doses of vaccines are scheduled to arrive in Nepal by December this year.
