KATHMANDU: Chairperson of CPN-Maoist Center Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ has said that different forces were attempting to reverse the positive changes obtained on the foundation of people’s struggle.
Addressing a program organized by Nepal National Employees Organization (Civil Service) in Kathmandu Monday, the Maoist Center chair said the communist party’s government and the individuals within the party were attacking on achievements. “The erstwhile government attacked on positive sides of the constitution and federalism and did not advance the bills sent from the parliamentary committees,” Prachanda said, referring to the KP Sharma Oli government.
Prachanda said that the forces having their faiths against republicanism, secularism and inclusion didn’t change their mindsets despite the expectations that they would change after the promulgation of new constitution. The anti-change forces were still active so the leadership and political parties that fought for transformation should not remain idle, he warned.
Saying that the bureaucratic mechanism has a great role in the political changes, he urged the civil servants to remain vigilant to safeguard the political changes. On the occasion, he informed that all the bills including the Civil Service Act, Police Adjustment Act and others stalled by the erstwhile government would be advanced soon.
Stating that political parties were holding talks regarding the ways to conduct polls in federal, province and local levels, Prachanda said the local level polls would be conducted first followed by the polls in the federal level.
During the program, Minister for Energy, Water Resources and Irrigation Pampha Bhusal asked the civil servants to work confidently for the cause of people. Maosit Center’s mouthpiece ‘Parag’ was also released at the program.
